Green features of the hotel include:

  • Green roof – reduces urban heat island effect, and attracts birds and native insects
  • LED lighting in public areas significantly reduces energy use
  • Low-flow plumbing uses less water and saves energy
  • Sophisticated controls (desk- and guest-controlled HVAC & lighting) offer customized comfort & energy savings
  • Construction waste management will divert at least 50% of waste from landfill
  • Recycled content (steel, concrete, sheetrock)
  • Bike storage for hotel employees, including changing room
  • University shuttle offers convenient shared transport
  • Car-share program (cars to be parked in Harper Court parking garage)
